In the March 25th Championship of Regional Cup, the Plantation Eagles U12 boys, coached by Fabian Trejo, defeated Cutler Ridge in what was probably their most exciting and suspenseful game of the season! It seemed the two teams were trading goals, first Cutler Ridge, then the Eagles, then Cutler Ridge and then finally the Eagles. Regular time ended in a 2-2 tie with the two goals scored by Adam Franz and Malcolm Palmer. Needless to say, it was a stunning offensive effort that kept Cutler Ridge's goalie very busy, as well as an outstanding defensive effort keeping Cutler Ridge's offense at bay. Regular time was followed by two 10 minute overtimes which saw many shots on goal by the Eagles but ended without a single score. Finally it had come down to a shoot out. With a total of 3 PK's scored by Marko Ilich, Adam Franz and Sable Rodriguez coupled with 2 saves by goalie Nick Soto and one missed shot by Cutler Ridge, the Championship and Trophy was ours. This game, as well as the entire Regional Cup series (which resulted in a 30 to 7 point differential) was the result of great playing by each and every player as well as phenomenal team work and exceptional coaching! So Congratulations to Hernan Bater, Tyler Drake, Adam Franz, Luke Hopfinger, Marko Ilich, Harley Lichtenberg, Ryan Lieblein, Robbie Madfis, Malcolm Palmer, Chris Reynolds, Rohith Reddy, Sable Rodriguez, Nick Soto and Coach Fabian on a job well done!!
