Mission
To provide financial assistance to those children whose parents cannot afford the registration, uniform and other expenses related to playing organized youth soccer.
The Legacy
The foundation was created as a lasting memorial for Barry Thiel, a loving husband, devoted father and a friend to all. It is a legacy that will continue to touch others and to help children reach their full potential not only in the game of soccer, but in life too. Barry's commitment to the game of soccer started with his sons but quickly grew into something bigger. He recognized that the skills needed to succeed in soccer were correlated to the skills needed to succeed in life: discipline, teamwork. improvisation and developing strong relationships among your teammates. His dedication to developing the Plantation Athletic League and, in particular, the Plantation Eagles, will be the focus of this legacy.
